From install to first offer in minutes
The all-new Bold Upsell comes with a completely redesigned admin built to get you live fast. The setup experience is goal-driven, starting from what you want to accomplish and walking you through from there. Everything is visual, including a live preview of your offer so you can see exactly what shoppers will see before anything goes live.
When creating your first offer, you choose your approach:
- Smart Offers let Bold's AI automatically surface the most relevant product recommendations to each shopper. Just turn it on and let it run. (More on Smart Offers 2.0 below.)
- Manual Offers give you full control to build a specific promotion. Choose from offer types including Cross-sell and Buy X Get Y, Post-Purchase (thank you page), Free Gift, Funnel, and more.

Discounted offers, built on Shopify Functions
Bold Upsell now supports native discounting through Shopify Functions, so you can apply a discount to any upsell or cross-sell across your product page, cart, and checkout, with no secondary app required. A merchant selling outdoor gear might discount a tent footprint when a shopper adds a tent. A coffee brand might take a few dollars off a bag of beans when a shopper upgrades to a larger size.
A discount doesn't just lower the price, it removes the hesitation. Shoppers who see a "you might also like" recommendation are more likely to add to cart when there are savings attached to it.
Frequently Bought Together
Frequently Bought Together shows complementary product recommendations right on the product page, before your shopper even gets to the cart. It's one of the best moments to catch them. They're showing interest in the main item, so a well-placed recommendation feels helpful rather than pushy. A shopper looking at a chef's knife might see a sharpener or a paring knife. Someone browsing a coffee bag might get nudged toward a grinder or filters.
And because it's powered by Smart Offers 2.0, the recommendations your shopper sees are based on what they're actually browsing, surfacing products that pair naturally with what's in front of them.
Smart Offers 2.0

Smart Offers is Bold Upsell's AI-powered recommendation engine, now in its most advanced version yet. Unlike Shopify's stock recommendations, Smart Offers 2.0 runs on Bold's own algorithm, trained on millions of orders across hundreds of thousands of merchants. It's pattern intelligence that single-store tools simply don't have.

Buy X, Get Y
Buy X, Get Y lets you build offers where a shopper adds a specific product to their cart and gets a deal on a second one. It works especially well for products that naturally go together. A skincare brand might discount a moisturiser when a shopper adds a cleanser. A coffee brand might discount a grinder when someone adds beans. A small incentive on item Y is often all it takes to turn a browse into a two-product order.
Free gifts
Free gifts automatically add a promotional item to your shopper's cart the moment they qualify. It's a classic gift-with-purchase mechanic. Set a spend threshold, and shoppers who are close will often add another product just to unlock it. That's a direct lift to your AOV, an easy way to move excess inventory, and if you're gifting samples, a chance to get new products into your shoppers' hands — the ones they'll come back to buy full-size later. For example, a cosmetics brand might throw in a limited edition cosmetics pouch with sample-size products when a shopper hits a spend threshold.
Post Purchase Funnels

The thank you page is some of the most underused real estate in your store. Your shopper just converted, their card is out, and they're still in a buying mindset. It's one of the best moments to put another offer in front of them.

If you want a lower commission rate and access to free gift offers and in-checkout offers for Shopify Plus, the Advanced plan is $10/month with a 2.5% fee.
