Bold Commerce Expands Operations to Austin; Bolsters Leadership Team


Appoints Mike Sanchez as its first CRO and Deanna Traa as CMO

Winnipeg, MB – December 5, 2019

Bold Commerce​, a leading provider of ecommerce solutions, today announced that it is expanding its operations to Austin, Texas to support its accelerated growth plans and expand its culture of innovation. With a new sales office in downtown Austin, Bold is well positioned to address the needs of its rapidly growing roster of U.S.-based customers and partners. Bold plans to hire up to 40 new team members in Austin through the end of 2020.

The new Austin office will be led by Mike Sanchez, who has joined Bold as its first Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Sanchez has over 15 years of experience in enterprise software sales and has held leadership roles with WP Engine, BigCommerce, and Rackspace. Most recently, as Vice President of Partner and Agency Sales at WP Engine, Sanchez oversaw the development of sales and partnerships on the WordPress digital experience platform, with a focus on the enterprise market.

Earlier this fall, Bold also appointed retail and ecommerce leader Deanna Traa as its first Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). With her prior roles as President of women’s apparel retailer Ricki’s, and CMO and Director of eCommerce for Comark brands, Traa brings an enterprise retail perspective and extensive brand management and marketing experience to Bold.

Bold’s expansion to the Austin market caps out a year that began with the company raising $22 million in Series A funding from Whitecap Venture Partners and Round13 Capital; and comes on the​​ heels of its ranking on the Deloitte 2019 Technology Fast 50™. Bold’s product innovations – underpinned by a suite of flexible, API-based solutions for key commerce capabilities – have attracted over 90,000 customers and almost 2,000 agency and technology partners.
